Comments: This collects issues one through four of the series.
We are treated to a look back at the Revolutionary War and one soldier a shield of the revolution. She is illustrated wonderfully in the dress of the times. Her attitude shows a tough and no nonsense girl. Her belief in what she is doing is easy to see.
Present day one woman has the government looking for her. She is a vigilante.
As you learn more about this woman/girl you realize she is more than ordinary. She has abilities beyond the norm. There is also more to her than just that much more.
The more you read and see of Victoria the more you start to feel awe at her. She is one unique individual that is sure to make an impact.
Victoria Adams is the Shield!
In 1776 the art does show the year perfectly. The soldiers do learn some manners. Women deserve to be treated with respect.
Than in the present. Victoria and a detective are being pursued. Victoria is an amazing woman. She knows instinctively what to do and how to move.
The federal government of after these two ladies. They are pulling out all the stops. Victoria must be extremely valuable to them.
Well not everything is explained here. We have two secret organizations both wanting Victoria. What will she do?
Victoria does look amazing in the Shield uniform. She looks ready for action.
The Night Vipers a Russian bike gang are criminals and they have the Shield's attention. She is a gorgeous red haired beauty dressed all in black.
The Shield moves in to save an old woman and finds herself in battle with something more than just a biker member. Nothing is said about what he is or why even the Shield was following these biker's.
This issue does not really tell us anything. The best part is of the Shield in her black biker outfit. The outfit is drawn nice on her and we can see it fits her nicely.
Who is the Shield though, an experiment, a spy, a soldier or something else?
In 1776 we see the Shield in a fight. She is part of the army and being used to create a better fighter.
In the present Victoria is the Spirit of America.
The story here really needs more of an explanation as to what is going on. Who is that other woman dressed up in the flag? Plus who is the blue skinned flaming guy?
The story is short since 13 pages were used for advertising. That is to many.
Victoria is a good character but here she is not in costume. Here she is not used very much. The comic works better with her as the star.
The Shield can be a great character if used properly.
