Hi Paul,

First of all, thanks again for prayers. Brother's surgery was yesterday and it went with flying colors! He looked like a goner several weeks ago.

Now, I have just begun looking into those addresses. Will send more tomorrow.

This is what I have so far for the history of the first address: 1135 North Center Street, Stockton, California

The structure is 100 yrs old, built in 1910. It was resold in Sept of last year. Parcel # 13712406. The attachment is a photo of the home unless the archive is incorrect.

I believe the original occupant was a John A Plummer. He moved to Stockton in 1892 and worked in the legal field.

There is a book that was written in 1912 by Joseph Clement Bates called "History of the bench and bar of California". In that book on page 465, John A Plummer's residence is listed as: 1135 North Center Street, and his office in Stockton, California.

History of the bench and bar of California

He had a private practice and then a partnership which was dissolved in 1906. He became Judge of the superior court of San Joaqion County on April 1910,then elected that fall for a term ending in 1915.

He had the respect of others and I am sure enemies. During his 13 years as Justice on the superior court not one of his decisions was ever reversed by a higher court. I looked into some of the cases. A brilliant yet firm man. He worked up until the very end, (1 day before 80th birthday) past the age when most retire. He became engaged a few months before his death (which happened while still in office) to a 59 yr old widow. I would have to go back to the archive but I believe he was ill for a while and she was there for him.

Here is a little blurb about him from a Gov site: CA COURTS

Article about his running for re-election:

The Lodi Sentinel - Dec 26, 1933,

He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. From a historical viewpoint it is interesting.

I'll dig up more and send tomorrow night.
