Title: Doris Danger Giant Monsters Adventures # 1
Publisher: SLG Publishing
Writer: Chris Wisnia
Penciler: Chris Wisnia
Inker: Dick Ayers
Price: $ 9.99 US
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Comments: "Spluhh! The Thing Who Burst from an Exploding Volcano!" by Chris Wisnia and Dick Ayers. Doris Danger is off on another adventure. This ace photo journalist investigates the strange and weird. Splazoo is a natural volcano monster that is presented in a comedic approach that works well with the art and setting. It is a fun, short, action packed story.
"Terror Lurks Deep in the Heart of Africa" by Chris Wisnia and Dick Ayers. The monster is drawn and wonderfully illustrated as a huge creature that stomps and creeps. Is it a menace? The army and MLA seem to be more a threat than the monster.
"Fuggabluh! The Eiffel Terror" by Chris Wisnia and Dick Ayers. The chapter names certainly shows a vivid imagination. The stories as well are imaginative and will get you thinking.
All the pin-ups are gorgeous pieces of monster art by gust artists.
"When Plopsplu Collides With The Honking Thing!" by Chris Wisnia and Dick Ayers. The giant monsters battling each other are a wonderfully illustrated scene.
"Oopf! The Bigger He Becomes...The Harder Niagara Falls!" this chapter starts off with a delightful illustration of a giant monster terrorizing people at Niagara Falls.
"Muh!Muh!Muh! The Creature That Got Sucked...Into The Black Hole!" Doris Danger goes on an outer space adventure here to save giant monsters. This story is left without an ending.
"All In Urban New Mexico Fear...Kockh!" the characters in these stories are totally unbelievable. The stories claim to be based on fact but we all know they are not, are they?
The art style is based on Jack Kirby's giant monster art. This is a wonderful comic that anyone can enjoy. Yes its a little weird and strange but that is part of its charm. If you like Giant Monsters that Creep and Stomp! you will love this!
