Title: Hawks Of Outremer # 1 Publisher: Boom Studios Writer: Michael Alan Nelson Artist: Damian Conceiro Price: $ 3.99 US Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Website: www.boom-studios.com Comments: This comic is based on Robert E. Howard's Hawks Of Outremer. Cormac Fitzgeoffrey is a Knight one it is easy to see is a battle hardened warrior. The scenes of battle are well illustrated and show war is not neat and tide, it is a bloody mess of gore. Cormac goes on a quest for revenge as he finds out a friend has been killed. Cormac is not a man to be played with. He is a killer and wrong him and you will find that out. His visage after a justified kill is not one you would want to see. This comic is done in the tradition of Conan or Kull. It is a savage, bloody, sword filled tale. Cormac is a man of few words and he is a beserker on the battle field. This is a hard hitting comic with great story telling and awesome art. The character Cormac Fitzgeoffrey is a barbarian with a sense of honor. You will see the resemblence to Conan easily here but a more civilized version. Not much but a noticable amount. Cormac is basicly an irish Conan. He is different enough to stand on his own. Cormac is a person if you met him you would be terrified of him but you would want him at your back in a fight. Robert E. Howard created another wonderfully savage heroic figure here in Cormac. He is a true nobel hero of his age.
Title: Hawks Of Outremer # 2 Publisher: Boom Studios Writer: Michael Alan Nelson Artist: Damian Conceiro Price: $ 3.99 US Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Website: www.boom-studios.com Comments: Cormac Fitzgeoffrey is a big barbarian. The art is gorgeous illustrating him. He looks like a knight of old combined with a wild savage barbarian. Cormac is wonderful to see in action. He is a gorilla fighter. no backing down for him, headfirst into the fray he goes. Cormac stumbies upon a love affair. One that has gone wrong. Of course though as a knight he has to help. He has to go on a mission to scue the fair maiden. Gorgeous art abounds and savage brutelity in battles. Cormac is a man of honor and he will face any foe to maintain his honor. This is Conan meets Knights of the Round Table and mix in a little Death Dealer. Cormac is a likable fella, he is someone you could trust to have your back in a fight. He is also one man you would never want to face in battle.
Title: Hawks Of Outremer # 3 Publisher: Boom Studios Writer: Michael Alan Nelson Artist: Damian Conceiro Price: $ 3.99 US Rating: 5 out of 5 stars Website: www.boom-studios.com Comments: Robert E. Howard's Cormac Fitzgeoffrey our hero rides to the rescue along with her young lover of a slave girl who was captured and is being tortured. Her torturers are an evil sadistic lot. Not only the art but the descriptiveness bring this across. The art beautifully renders this savage land and its inhibitants. There is blood shed as Cormac and company rush to the rescue. Michael and Yulala are reunited. The expressions they share show a deep love as well as the writing leaves no doubt they are in love. Cormac is a hard warrior out for revenge and he will have it at any cost. This story is beautifully presented in its simplicity. Cormac is a savage knight with a sense of honor. Now this issue sets up for the final issue and the setup is a wonderful prelude of what is to come more savage action and blood.
