Comments: Thinks heat up right from the get go as a murder takes place. Relationships between apes and humans may not be the best at times but this well it does not help.
The art has a rough look to it. It fits the setting though. In this world where apes and humans both live it is primative. The horses and gorillas are drawn really well.
The characters are introduced here and it is done perfectly as the story rolls along.
Sullivan and Alaya two sisters one human and one ape both their species leaders. Both raised as sisters but when things fall apart they become at odds with each other.
The dynamics of the city and its inner workings are wonderful to see. It is a powerkeg waiting to be ignited and it just was.
The thrills and excitement of apes and humans is here and its going to stay until they destroy each other.

Comments: The art is gorgeous showing off the apes. Whether its an ape or gorilla the artwork stands out. Lots of detail in these drawings. You won't be disappointed.
A high up ape the Lawgiver was assassinated. So now tensions run high between apes and humans.
Nix is the gorilla picked to find the assassin and he will stop at nothing to do so. Nix also inspires those with him. The White Troop they do want justice and they will go through any human in there way.
The violence escalates. Its humans vs apes and is there any way this can be solved peacefully? And did a human really do it?
The excitement and action are building. Its going to just get more and more violent as both sides want what they deserve.
Apes though are the more aggressive, stronger and better armed of each camp. They are drawn as such and the art is amazing on them.

Comments: Nix is illustrated as a great warrior ape. A gorrilla who is taking charge he is hard edged and tough and willing to push as much as he has to to achieve his goals. This is one ape you do not want to fool with.
Alaya is a strong ape as well she is the rular of the city now and she is grieving. She lets her emotions cloud her judgement. Sometimes not a good thing for a ruler to do it can cause more harm than good.
Alaya we get to see just how strong she is. In the heat of the moment she remains calm enough to act. If not blinded by her pain of loss she would indeed be a great ruler.
The illustrations fit this comic perfectly. The apes and humans are both well drawn in this world and time.
This issue is just full of surprises you will not want to miss it.

Comments: The ape and human interaction is heating up. Both sides have people that want to keep it calm and both have those that want to start a battle.
The apes are all wonderfully illustrated. You can tell they are intelligent. They do seem quite human.
Violence does erupt and not just violence as this leads to more. One human can make a difference. Unfortunately it can be a bad difference.
The story is full of mounting violent emotions. It starts here with one act and the ramifications will be felt for a long time to come.

Comments: The gorilla suits with their armor are impressive. The humans and apes here are in a struggle. Both sides want to prove something; humans want to be treated as equals and apes want to be treated as betters. They truely believe they are better.
Tensions are rising in Apetown and Skintown. Humans and apes are at each others throats. The death toll is rising.
The apes are starting to act like a Master Race at least they think they are. That they are superier just because they were born as apes rather than humans. You acn mistreat and push humans only so far before they will push back.
A revolution is coming.

Comments: A priest supplies the humans with machine guns and rocket launchers. These will even the odds against the Apes.
The battle scenes of Ape vs Humans is a thrilling illustration of mayham and war. Both are a blood thirsty species.
Push humans enough and they will push back. Push back hard. Only here the Apes are or were in control. The humans are arming up to fight for their rights. The apes are readying to control the humans. Things are really heating up. All out war is coming. All the humans wanted was to be treated as equals. They will fight and die for what they believe in.
Apes may Rule! Humans though may usurp!

Comments: The apes at night are drawn amazing. They have great detail. You will think of them as real. It just has to be seen.
Now Southtown or as the apes call it Skintown is at war. Its Major is just trying to defend her people. The apes want justice for a dead ape.
Both apes and humans are dying in this fight. Neither side is winning but both are losing.
The Voice Alaya an ape the grandaughter of the murdered Lawgiver delivers a sperak like one he might give but with some differences. He always emphasized peace. Alaya though wants all out war against the humans of Southtown.
The apes are ready and the humans will not know what hit them. War is here and its not going to be pretty.

Comments: You can feel the build up. Apes and humans are going to clash. They do and it is a massacre the apes run over them almost as if they do not exist.
On the run the humans find that they are not alone. An army of humans may be able to take back what is theirs.
Sisters become enemies as one goes insane with vengence on her mind. The other only wants peace but realizes she has to fight for it.
Its all out war as apes battle humans!

Comments: The war is on and the humans are acting humainly so far. The apes on the other hand are animals cruel ones at that. Their bestial nature comes forth.
The humans fight back at their brutal treatment. They were living in peace with apes but that peace has been broken.
The apes are being shown as cruel evil beasts. They fight to control and punish. The humans fight for freedom and self preservation.
It is apes vs humans and no one wins.

Comments: In this world apes and humans were meant to live in peace but as often happens when races are different tensions flare and violence erupts.
There is some lovely art here showing off just how people man or apes behave.
It is easy to understand why Alaya hates humans. They scared her childhood.
The scenes of battle as ape faces human are wonderfully illustrated to show off the horror of war. The gorilla's expresses are fierocious they are very well illustrated.
The action is really heating up and the bodies are starting to pile up. This is all out war.

Comments: Sully the resistance leader has her baby a boy. The birth is not without its complications.
The humans have been pushed and pushed hartd. Their only choice is to fight back and they do. People with no other choice to find a way. Even when the odds are agianst them.
The art could be more focused.
Voice Alaya says she wants peace for apes and humans. Peace by apes ruling humans not as them living together in peace. How can they have peace when she only wants to rule.
The humans fight back and hard. We are shown freedom is worth fighting for and dying for. There is lots of emotion this issue. The stakes are raised.

Comments: Humans and Apes are at war here.
Sully may be the resistance leader but here she is a mother who's child has been stolen. Now we see that humans can fight back and fight back hard as they want nothing more than to be treated as equals. A human killed an Ape but that is no excuse to kill all humans.
Things take a unexpected turn here as we jump forward in time 10 years. Things are really heating up in this war. Are Apes ready for Humans who are armed and battle ready we will see.

Comments: Julian Sully's son was kidnapped ten years ago and held prisoner by Alaya an ape leader. She has poisoned his mind into thinking all humans are criminals and terrorists.
Sully leads the humans who just want to be treated as equals by the apes.
Exactly what has been happening in the ten year gape is not really explained. Somethings are mentioned but not how they came to be.
Who is the Golden Khan and Princess Wencheng? They are illustrated impressively indicating they are an ape and human of power.
Can humans undo the apes poisoning of Julian? He does seem like a bright young boy. Can he be made to learn the truth? The story is bringing up a number of things that you will want to follow. It is starting to get interesting. Will humans or apes win?

Comments: The war still rages on between humans and apes.
Ok the Golden Khan a gorilla and his human bride Fei Wei as we read their story of how they met it mirrors King Kongs story.
We see that war can make for strabge bedfellows.
Voice Alaya is presented as one mean evil ape. She kidnapped and holds prisoner a humans son, Sully's son. Well she acts as if she loves him and maybe in some warped way she does. Now with him gone she does want him back.
The close ups of the gorilla's faces are amazingly drawn. Great detail. Gorgeous coloring. You can see the emotions in their faces. The expressions are easy to read.

Comments: There is a lot going on here. The story does not stay in one place long. It jumps around but still does keep it fairly easy to follow.
The art for this comic looks great. It has subdued coloring which suits the apes and their surroundings. The apes faces do show emotions effectively.
Sully has gone a longer way since being Major of Skintown. She leads an army of humans all of which want to be free of the Apes cruel rule. The Apes are shown here as a cruel race. They are the villians and humans the heroes with Sully being the leader of the humans. She is an inspiration.

Comments: There is a lot going on here. Sully is fighting back with other humans. The humans fight to free other humans so their ranks can grow. They do need an army to battle the apes.
The art seems a bit vague.
Julian is a confused boy. He is Scully's son but Voice Alaya has poisoned his mind. Turning him against his own kind. Can he be made to see the truth.
Things just keep escalading. The tensions are high and the scheming is full blown. Things are going to explode.

Comments: Apes and treating humans as bad as or worse than humans have treated animals.
The hatred apes have for humans is high here. Most not all think of them as animals. Humans here are just at the stage of starting to be recognized as more than just an animal.
Now having a murder occur makes things hard. The storyline could use more to it. The art especially on the apes is great. They are given human characteristics.
Seeing apea turn on apes reminds you on humans turning on humans. They only species to hunt and kill its own kind. The apes have a saying ape shall not kill ape. Well that is no longer the case. Things are heating up.

Comments: Aleron tries making an escape. He does run and ride fast and gives it a good try. It is an exciting chase. The art though is not clear enough. The orangatangs though are illustrated remarkable well.
The number one rule of apes is broken. Ape does not kill ape. But has he really. Aleron seems like an honorable ape. A gorilla that would not kill unless he had to and certainly not another ape.
Aleron by being accused of killing another ape becomes one of the most hated apes around. The art and story both combine to bring the feelings of other apes to life and they dispise him.
A world ruled by apes is a lot like one ruled by humans just they are not as destructive. They do express the same emotions.

Comments: Dr. Zaius is checking out excavations. Than gorillas grab a human from a chimpanze. Than the story jumps to a gorilla in jail. The story is all over the place making it hard to follow.
Councilor Tenebris wants to impose his order on all apes. He wants to contain any who disagree with him. He is set in what he wants.
General Aleron is a take charge gorilla. He is tough but also likable.
The art is very good showing us the different types of apes. Gorillas, orangutangs, chimpanzes all are given a distinct look.
Aleron is a gorilla of action. He has a plan and goes into fast paced action to carry it out. He will save apes from apes even if it kills him.

Comments: The art does show off the apes and the different species of apes is a most realistic way. It definitely helps your imagination to believe a world like this could possibly exist.
Apes think they are better than humans because they are not as violent. They do though have the capacity to become just as evil as some humans have even if they think they cannot.
Here humans are thought to be little more than wild animals. Tern is one such human only he is more than just an animal. The actions here set the atmosphere for things to come on this planet of the apes.
