Comments: Lou Scheimer co-founded Filmation Studios. In this book you will find a comprehensive look at the life of Lou Scheimer.
The studio did struggle and was about to close its doors when they got the rights to make a cartoon called "The New Adventures of Superman". After making Superman they ended up using many other DC characters. They also created a Archies cartoon. Lou Scheimer and Filmation Studios produced so many great cartoons and they also had wonderful music to listen to as well.
Aesop's Fables, Fat Albert, Star Trek, Lassie so many great animated shows came from here. Lots of them were based on real life TV shows.
Filmation also produced live action TV shows. Shazam and The Secrets of Isis were two very entertaining shows. They had great acting, action and adventure to.
He-Man became a success beyond what was expected.
Bravestarr was a show that was suppost to help the studio but due to the time slot and other new shows it did not do as well as expected.
The studio did try to keep all work done in the US. Eventually it did have to go overseas to cut costs and stay alive.
When Filmation Studios closed it was a sad event. Lou took out an ad in the paper and posted a letter to the former employees. It is a heart felt letter. Lou truly cared. On Feb. 3rd, 1989 Filmation Studios had closed.
Lou started his own company called Lou Scheimer Productions.
Lou can be proud of what he has accomplished. He touched people's lives, children's lives and made them better.
This book is filled with tons of pictures from all the animated series. Also lots of pictures throughout the years of Lou and his family and friends.
This is a wonderful look at one of the fathers of Saturday morning television.
