Way to get

Story about Marines is told through the eyes of two soldiers named Joe and Sarge. They take us through time to see Marine's history. The words on Marine flag say Semper Fi which is short for Semper Fidelis - in Latin means always faithful. Joe and Sarge also talk about Marines hymn " From the Halls of Montezuma."
They showed moments in history like The raising of the Flag at Mount Suribaci, in Iwo Jima on February 19th, 1945. Also, telling importance of island in war effort. The story also mentions places Marines go for initial training to become Marine. Mentions were made about Helicoptors marines used by Marines.
I also learned what red stripe stands for on Marines uniform pants. I learned about how terms "First to Fight" also "Looking for a few good men" came from.
The story also mentioned positive things Marines did. They were involved with Libia in 1990, Desert Storm in 1990's and the war on terror after the attacks on 9/11. I was encouraged to read about how children benefit from Christmas "Toys for Tot's" campaign.

I really liked way story ended with Marine theme.
From the Halls of Montezuma
to the shores of Tripoli;
We will fight our Country's
battles in the air and in the sea;
First to fight for right and Freedom
and to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine.

Our flags unfurled to every breeze from dawn
to setting sun; we have fought in every clime and
place we could take a gun; in the snow of far off
Northern lands and in the sunny tropic scenes;
you will find us always on the job -
The United States Marines.

Here's health to you and our corps.
Which we are proud to serve in many a strife we've fought for life and never lost our nerve; if the Army and Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines!!!

Don Smith also wrote recent Bluewater comic about The U.S. Navy.
He did interview with me about that story.

Here is also his interview with me about U.S. Army comic book.
