Comments: Mr. Niles Lance is hired to find a missing actress, Zia. Rose accompanies him on his investigation.
The art is way to darkly colored, to much black filler. The art could use more detail.
Zia is drawn in a lovely short dress, her legs are shaped and colored nicely in the scene.
Now something was going on with Zia on set as she does her first talkie. Something weird. This may add the twist to the story it needs to make it come alive more.
The characters do need to be explored more and this may happen in future issues. By knowing more about them we the reader will care more about what happens to them.
The story does pick up as Niles and Rose find out more about the missing actress. There are mysteries to be unraveled.

Comments: Something is going on with Zia. She is a troubled woman.
Now we are treated to a magnificently illustrated scene of a house atop a hill. The blue colors and the shading and tones used made this drawing jump out at you.
Zia may have inherited her affliction.
The comic does jump around to much without fully explaining what is happening and when. The story is interesting and is filled with mysteries.
The demonic creatures that haunt Zia they are the focus point in this story even though you rarely see them. They are drawn and written to show they have evil intentions. Zia needs help.

Title: Empress # 3

Comments: Niles and Rose are on a hike. Why and where we do not know yet. We do find out and Niles and Rose do not like what they find or rather what finds them.
Zia is shown in bad shape. She gets put into a hospital and still the demons come. Are they real or imagined. They are cute with a scary aspect in how they are drawn. Zia we get to see her connect or at least a major part of it here with the demons.
Slowly things are unveiling. It is better the more you know about what is happening and who these people are. Some mystery is good just not all as a mystery.
As the story builds it becomes more interesting. It will be nice to see where it goes next.

Title: Empress # 4

Comments: A bunch of green goblin like creatures that are ugly and a little scary take a captive to the Empress. The Empress is shown in shadows but her beauty is brought out well. Her express speaks of evil and insanity.
One thousand years in the past we get a look at similar goblins. A group of warriors are stranded on an island with these goblins. Freya leads the goblins and she has plans. How though does this tie in with the present?
Is Zia the Empress the daughter from a thousand years ago? How did the Empress and her goblins get on a ship? Why are they there? A little more explanation is certainly needed here. Some mystery is good but more of a clue as to what is going on is needed.
The goblin teeth are illustrated as sharp evil fangs ready to rip apart flesh.
The Empress and her goblins do make a evil vile group of creatures ready to deliver pain and hurt to those around them and even death.

Comments: "Goddess: PT.I" The art is very dark as we are given a glimpse of the Underworld. It is not somewhere you would want to be.
The skin color on the people gives them a natural complexion. The coloring has a realistic feel to it.
Who are Gudrun and Krummi? Who is the devil child? The writing and art both make it clear this child has a touch of evil in her. Things do get explained somewhat later.
Iceland is illustrated with some lovely country side. The buildings and grass and mountains are all combined into a great scenic picture. The sea at night is presented as an awesome drawing with a foreboding touch.
Eydis the young devil child grows into a beautiful woman.
It does turn out the story is setting up this story arc nicely. Eydis is a character who is being built up nicely. Will she be a force of good or evil?

Comments: "Goddess: PT.II" Mara is a strange little girl and she has been since she was a baby. She has a power within her. The power comes from Hel.
Present day three sailors pick up Mara with evil intent in their hearts. Mara though commands Hel fire and creatures of evil. The little creatures reek of evil. The creatures are blood thirsty. Mara now is their Empress. She just refuses to accept her throne in the Dark World.
The story was flowing along smoothly. Than things happen with no explanation. The story is unfocused. However a female, the Empress maybe is here from Hel.
The Empress is not totally evil she does though like punishing evil men. The Empress does grab your attention and she will grab more than that.

Comments: Katelina is Scandinavian and she wants understanding, why does Hecate send creatures for her.
Than we see a crime has been committed onboard a ship.
Than we flip to an actress and movie producer. She has control over the little green creatures. There is lots of blood. She is the Empress. The Empress here is illustrated dressed up like a super-hero. She does look good.
This comic needs a focus. The Empress is a wonderful character just she needs to be used way better and a lot more.
The little creatures that appear in this issue do have an evil look about them that says we are going to be trouble. They are drawn as something that might have crawled out of Hell.
