Lee and Kaluta’s Sci-Fi Noir Series—Set in the Starstruck Multiverse!

What does a guy do when his android goes missing? And not just any droid, but an extremely rare pleasure droid who happens to be a dead ringer for his long-lost love!

Find out this Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, with the release of Issue #1 of Starstruck: Old Proldiers Never Die. Published by IDW, written by playwright and comics writer, Elaine Lee, and drawn by renowned artist and illustrator, Michael Kaluta, this 6-issue sci-fi noir series was digitally painted by fantasy artist Lee Moyer and lettered by award-winning comics letterer Todd Klein.

According to John Hilgart of The Comics Journal: “You can become immersed in Starstruck in different ways. You can sift for clues, move back and forth among pages, checking, verifying, assembling. Or you can simply give yourself over to it, and sink into each deeply imagined and beautifully rendered scene and character.”

Now, the Starstruck saga continues! Follow tough-guy bartender, Harry Palmer—ex-rebel, ex-mercenary “proldier”—as he combs Rec 97, a perilous, planet-sized, vacation station in search of love. Does he seek a living woman, now a fading memory from his past, or this woman’s simulacrum, the last in a line of alluring Erotica Ann Droids?

Originally funded via Kickstarter, the series contains 50% new art, 50% art previously published by Marvel/Epic, with all new color. According to writer Lee, “Michael and I never got to finish Harry’s story from the Epic books the way we wanted to. Thanks to our Kickstarter backers and the folks at IDW, we’re doing it now!!”

The six issues will be collected into a graphic novel, which will also include an epilogue, glossary, gallery art and special features, and will be released near the end of this year. The Kickstarter book and the book for sale from IDW will feature different covers.

#8203;When asked to name his favorite comic book of all time, celebrated author, comic book writer and screenwriter Mike Carey (The Unwritten, X-Men Legacy, Lucifer) told Comic Book Resources: “Starstruck, by Lee and Kaluta.”
