These girls train hard. Here we not only see them competing we look at their lives on and off the track. Roller Derby is a lot more than just skating around a track. All the girls have their own unique personalities. Here the drama is so think you can cut it with a knife. The art portrays these skaters as normal people. The story would have been better with more skate time. Looking at one team members actions that may cause her her place on the team is good but almost the whole issue is spent on it. We do see friendship here. Also hatred. A new girl being ignored which is wrong. All she wants is to be part of the team. Cancan and Knockout are both wonderful characters and their friendship is great to see as this issue brings it out to the forefront.

Box Created by: Pamela Ribon & Veronica Fish Written by: Pamela Ribon Illustrated by: Marina Julia Colors by: Brittany Peer Letters by: Jim Campbell Cover by: Veroica Fish Subscription Cover by: Meredith Gran/Colors by Brittany Peer Price: $ 3.99 US Rating: 2 out of 5 stars Website: www.boom-studios.com Comments: The roller derby girls just hanging out and indulging in some drama. These girls do love to skate and they think anyone skating with them should love it just as much. The skaters have a bonding party and they compare scars. The skaters do have fun just playing around. We need to see more focus on letting us the readers know who each character is. Having an issue focus on one or two of the characters would help. Or telling us more about each one. The art does illustrate these women as real woman and skaters. These are not super skinny models they are roller derby girls. All the drama needs to be off set with some happy moments. All doom and gloom is not good. The skaters themselves are all good people and outside of skating they have a whole other life.
